This documentation describes in detail how to reinstall the operating system on an F3 Cloud server by yourself via the VM Manager control panel.

Reinstalling the operating system on a server

Before you start, make sure you are logged in to BillManager:

  • Log in to the client area.
  • Open the “Virtual servers” tab.

DANGER

If, during reinstallation, you do not specify your own password while configuring the parameters we will describe below, a new password will be generated and sent to your email. Moreover, the newly generated password will be displayed to you.

We would also like to note that any changes made during reinstallation are not reflected in the instructions in BillManager itself, namely on the page with the details. The instructions themselves are created once, when the server is purchased.

If you wish to keep the password from the instructions, simply specify it at the time of reinstallation.

5. Configuring the server parameters we will work with after reinstallation

We have access to basic settings, such as:

Choosing the OS family: Debian, Ubuntu, CentOS and other distributions.

And, in general, the ability to specify the operating system version.

Applications and scripts:

Installing panels and programs: HestiaCP, WireGuard VPN, Marzban and other solutions.

Recommendation: for maximum security, use the password generator when installing a new OS.

6. A little about the reinstallation process

Once you start the reinstallation process, you will see the following:

  • The server will become temporarily unavailable.
  • Reinstallation takes 3 to 5 minutes on average. Note that the reinstallation time is affected by the choice of additional software or scripts.
  • Once it is complete, the status will change to “Active”.

TIP

The installation is considered complete when the server is shown as “Active” in the control panel again.
